The Alpharetta Adult Activity Center is a senior center located in Alpharetta, Georgia. The Center offers a wide range of activities, including AARP meetings, a Golden Age Club, ceramics, exercise classes, pickleball, day trips, art classes, card games, stained glass, and many others. The Center also plans and carries out shopping trips, day trips, specialty parties, special outings, and seminars. The Alpharetta Adult Activity Center is for adults 50 years old and older.
The Center offers an energetic, inviting, and bright space to spend leisure time, meet new friends, and engage in new activities. The Art Center allows members to show off their creative size. The Art Center includes a ceramics workshop, a woodshop, and a stained glass studio. There are painting, drawing, writing, and stained glass classes. Other classes include coffee and canvas and drama club.
There is a Lending Library that offers hundreds of literary selections to borrow or browse. Table and card activities are available in the Game Room. There is a large group activity area where seminars, luncheons, and special events take place. The fitness center has treadmills, recumbent bikes, elliptical, rowing machine, mats, weights, total body exerciser and a facilitator to provide orientation for use of equipment. Off-site, there are other activities including water aerobics in the summer, hiking, pickleball, and tennis.
The Center plans and carries out trips to museums, festivals, concerts, dinner theater, winery tours, shopping, historical homes, holiday lights/events/shows. It also has travel excursions such as cruises and multi-day destination trips.
There are many special events that take place at the Alpharetta Adult Activity Center. These includes Casino Night, Chili Cook-off, Cookie Swap, Mother’s Day Luncheon, Veterans Day Breakfast, Easter Egg Hunt, Breakfast with Santa, Murder Mystery Dinner, Travelogues, Movies, Speakers, and AARP Income Tax Preparation. Activity clubs at the center include Collectors Club, Book Club, Friendship Club, Quilters Guild, Knitting for Charity, and Lunch & Listen.
The Alpharetta Golden Age Club promotes companionship and fellowship to improve the quality of life and to expand the horizons of its members. It provides recreational opportunities. The annual membership is $15 per person. Business meetings take place the first Tuesday each month.
The Fulton County Golden Games take place annually. They are hosted in partnership by local cities to promote active and healthy lifestyles for people 50 years old and up. There is a friendly competition held each year at different locations. Activities include tennis, golf, swimming, Wii bowling, billiards, bocce, fitness center, biathlon, pickleball, and more!
